Stella-Style

okay, i haven't posted for a few days. i don't quite remember what i have eaten, but i'll do my best.

Also, i've been reading through some cookbook/lifestyle books trying to figure them out because i'm trying really hard to get my health to the right point. And since i am rapidly approaching the age point where it is very easy to gain weight and very hard to lose weight, i would like to find an eating pattern that i can deal with that isn't going to hurt me.

The books i was looking through are a big advocate of soy flour to replace flour in order to cut back on carbs but still be able to eat "real" food. I am unfortunately allergic to soy, and so using it as a "miracle" substitution doesn't work very well for me... at all.
So if anyone can find any alternative flours that are good for me, i would appreciate it greatly.

Yesterday:
  • Einstein Bros' egg, spinach, mushroom, and swiss on a "good grains" bagel.
  • fettuccini with noodles
  • Szechuan Gourmet's chicken with black bean sauce, green peppers and onions, and rice
  • sno-caps
  • drinks were water, berry iced tea, crystal light orange flavor, blood orange soda
The Day before yesterday:
  • crackers, last of grandma's cookies
  • chicken-flavored rice
  • Szechuan Gourmet's chicken with black bean sauce, green peppers and onions, and a little bit of General Tso's chicken
  • movie popcorn and sno-caps
  • drinks were hot chamomile tea, milk, water, arizona iced tea
The Day before the day before yesterday:
  • tuna salad with crackers
  • chicken flavored rice
  • Chik-fil-a sandwich and 8 nuggets with honey-mustard sauce and buffalo sauce
  • drinks were iced coffee, water, milk, arizona iced tea, rootbeer

Also, David and I have been trying to play DDR at night before we go to bed. So I'll probably try to start logging when we do and for how long so that i can keep track of how much i actually excersize. We've also been trying to figure when exactly we can play DDR. So far, at night before we go to bed seems to be the best bet, but since i have class four night a week until ten and don't get home until at least 11.15, i am completely pooped out and just ready for bed and usually depressed that i've gotten home so late.

i have a really big problem with getting up early right now. i think it is in part a rebellion from having to get up early in high school. So exercising later at night works for me because i am going to bed later, but i naturally get up later right now anyway, so if you figure that i need eight hours of sleep at night and i get up at 9.ooam generally, then i could go to bed at one in the morning, and still get a proper amount of sleep. David has to get up at 6am though, so he should be going to bed at ten.

The times that i would like to shoot for are going to bed around 12 or 12.30 and then getting up around 8 or 8.3o, which is generally the time that i get up. nine is when i absolutely have to get up or i won't have time to get dressed or eat breakfast or anything.

David usually takes a nap at some point after he gets home so if he stays up with me to play ddr, then he should still be all right.

The only issue is me getting myself to play ddr after getting home from class. There are so many different ways that i can feel when i get home from school, but having energy is just not in the category. And I don't get home soon enough to train myself to go to bed early enough to get up in time to exercise in the morning.

SO, anyway, perhaps logging the times that i exercise will help to motivate me.

Hey Alyse,

Biggest thing I can tell you is to get up early. I get up at 7:30 every morning and go to be at about 11:30. Which is eight hours of sleep.
If you get up at 7:30 you can play DDR for half and hour, take a shower and get ready for work, as well as fixing a simple meal to take in for lunch so you can avoid having to eat fast food for lunch.
Wake up, drink a cold glass of water, stretch for five minutes, then play DDR. If you do this for a few days it will start to get easier.

As for your flour issue. I recommend using whole grain flour. It cooks exactly the same as all purpose flour, but it is not bleached and has more nutrients that regular flour. You have to keep it in the fridge though, but it lasts for a long time in the fridge.

I'll have to start blogging my exercise too.
